Fusion
We work in partnership with Fusion, a national contact centre services organisation, to deliver high quality management training.
Fusion employs more than 400 people at its Peterborough-based operation in Bretton, and the company prides itself on providing a high quality service to its parent brand, the BGL Group, which is the UK's largest privately-owned personal lines insurance intermediary. It is equally dedicated to investing in the skills of its people and, as such, teamed up with Business Training Services to develop a management training programme for its staff.
The programme led to the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Certificate in First Line Management, qualification, which allows staff to evidence their progress with a highly respected and internationally-recognised qualification.
The training scheme has been so successful that, Business Training Services team are not only training staff in Peterborough but on the company's request have also extended the programme to staff based at Fusion's other UK sites in Coventry, Sunderland and Peterlee.
Course Manager for the training programme, Adam Mee, commented, "Fusion contacted the college Business Training Services team looking for a flexible training programme that would also fit in with work schedules and we were delighted when they decided to extend the programme to their other sites. The BTS team recognise the importance of responding flexibly to employer needs and are dedicated to developing training programmes at a time and place to suit our business customers."
Fusion Training Manager Angela Wilson, who co-ordinated the training programme for 2007/08, explained that over 70 delegates have been involved in the training across all of the sites.
She said: "It is a tailored programme designed by the College to fit into our business needs. We are very happy with how it is going. Delegates have completed two assessments so far and we have had very positive feedback about the level of the work produced.
"We can already see the positive impact on the delegates in the workplace and we do feel very confident that they will all achieve their qualifications at the end of the programme and be able to successfully utilise their new skills and knowledge within their roles in the future.
"The partnership with the College has been a real success and from which we are already achieving some very tangible results."
